Great story. Coached a youth league team many years ago. While we played everybody, one little kid had not managed to score a single point all season. Then, in the final game of the season, with about 10 seconds left, he was fouled. He missed the first of two free throws…badly. The second shot hit the back of the rim, bounced in the air, came back down, rolled around the rim, and finally decided to fall through. The kids, the parents, the entire place went bananas. It’s the thing I remember most about that season, the cohesiveness of the entire place around one single human achievement.
Kudos all round.
