I not clear what is meant by a singular “voice” in the head. I would argue that we are constituted of many ‘voices’ in our head, implanted by those around us throughout our lives and that the beginning of wisdom is distinguishing among those voices for the different agendas they bear. How you distinguish among them, which you choose to believe or act upon, then maybe constitutes who “you” are.
