The term “atheist” describes a person who does not believe that God or a divine being exists. Worldwide there may be as many as a billion atheists, although social stigma, political pressure, and intolerance make accurate polling difficult.

Aphorism: On Finding Solutions Between the Two Extremes

It is easy to fall into the trap of believing that the silver bullet lies somewhere between two extremes. However, history is replete with examples where, in fact, the proper solution lies on one extreme or the other, e.g. slavery, religious persecution, women’s suffrage, etc. All opinions are not equally rational, and irrational opinions should not be given a platform of argument with those opinions that are rational. The discerning mind will recognize the difference.
