Let’s not act, however, like we are innocent bystanders in whatever bamboozle comes our way. Dig deep enough and you will find some advantage, some kind of nourishment in accepting the narrative being peddled to us. For example, white folk are not being bamboozled into denying white privilege. They know full well the consequences of giving up the structural advantages that give them a leg up, a head start in the world.
