Yes, the artful dodge. I mean, who can reasonably argue with the premise that “all lives matter”? Until you consider, of course, that it is a false premise because, in practice, all lives are not accorded the same weight and the majority needs reminding that it has devalued some lives. You know, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” So obvious, right? So why do we need guns at all then? I mean if people are doing all the killing then guns are just, what, ornamentation?
