Mockery of religion is one of the most essential things because to demystify supposedly ‘holy text dictated by god’ and show that they are man-made and what you have to show is their internal inconsistencies and absurdities. One of the beginnings of human emancipation is the ability to laugh at authority . . . it is an indispensable thing people can call it blasphemy if they like, but if they call it that they have to assume there is something to be blasphemed – some divine work, well I don’t accept the premise.

Maybe he’s grasping at straws in order to find something that will attract more attention and support? Hmmmm…. Straws…. Santorum… Nope, didn’t need that image in my mind. Regardless, Santorum’s position here is utter nonsense — in fact, it’s nearly as nonsensical as his denial of evolution in the first place. It is anti-science when you look around, deny the facts that science reveals, and believe instead the stories from an ancient text as if that text were a more reliable guide to geology, biology, and cosmology. “Dominionism” generally describes the belief that Christians are biblically mandated to control all earthly institutions until the second coming of Jesus. Experts identify two main schools of Dominionism: Christian Reconstructionists, who believe biblical law, including stoning as punishment for adultery and other transgressions, should replace secular law; and the New Apostolic Reformation, which advocates for Christians to “reclaim the seven mountains of culture”: government, religion, media, family, business, education, and arts and entertainment . . . Catholic Terrorist Arrested in Spain

A Mexican student was arrested in Madrid on Tuesday after posting his intention to attack anti-papal protestors with toxic gases, including sarin, on the internet . . . A staunch Catholic, the man said that he could not allow protests against the pope . . . So it’s secularists and atheists who are “militant” and “fundamentalist,” but they are the ones targeted for terrorist attacks and police brutality. You don’t see any atheists trying to launch poison gas attacks on Catholic events. You don’t see atheist police bashing Catholic heads at World Youth Day.
