David Hume, Philosopher, Historian, Economist, and Essayist
All that belongs to human understanding, in this deep ignorance and obscurity, is to be skeptical, or at least cautious; and not to admit of any hypothesis, whatsoever; much less, of any which is supported by no appearance of probability.
Tafacory,
Here is a link to LibraryThing that shows his works:

If one were allowed to read but one Schopenhauer book, I would highly recommend it be “The Wisdom of Life and Counsels and Maxims,” which may be found here:

Also, here is a link to some electronic books by Schopenhauer to get you started. Be warned, I found him to be quite addictive:

Madison,
I’m glad to hear it. If you have any links to works of Schopenhauer, I’d love to get my hands on them.
All the best,
Tafacory
Tafacory,
“An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding” has been on my read list for years. However, there appears to be an infinite number of books, and a finite number of years. As you may have noticed, apparently, I have an inability to take my nose out of Arthur Schopenhauer books, but one day Mr. Hume and I will tango.

Great quote. I’m actually reading An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding currently. Great book. Great philosopher.
