It is even less popular than much maligned groups like “atheists” and “Muslims.” Interestingly, one group that approaches it in unpopularity is the Christian Right… So what do Tea Partiers have in common? They areoverwhelmingly white, but even compared to other white Republicans, they had a low regard for immigrants and blackslong before Barack Obama was president, and they still do.

Not my experience with anyone I know that leans towards the tea party ideals…and I know a few. I do however stand for your right to paint a whole group of people who stand for fiscal sanity with such a broad stroke.
When you say that you “do however stand for your right to paint a whole group of people who stand for fiscal sanity with such a broad stroke,” you must be referring to David E. Campbell, an associate professor of political science at Notre Dame, and Robert D. Putnam, a professor of public policy at Harvard, the authors of the article.
However, I personally never did fall for the “people who stand for fiscal sanity,” cover used to conceal deep seeded bigotries of the faux grassroots laughingstock Teabagees.

P.S. I did not realize that my “right to paint a whole group of people who stand for fiscal sanity with such a broad stroke” was ever in question, but thank you for standing for my right to do so nonetheless.
No problem Madison…paint away:) hope you have a great week! Sincerely, Danny Ray:)
