Sorry, back again ‘guys’.
Spooky though Ben.
I suffer from Progressive MS. so you and the ‘mad’ psychotherapist are probably right!
WEIRD!
PRAISE THE LORD!
That’s all-right then Ben,
we’ll all go around smiling vacantly and living in ‘cloud cuckoo’ land and everything will be wonderful. NOT!
Oh! you silly, silly man.
Well said Madison.
God help us!
Madison I agree with you 100%
Actually, what she said is true. Belief in god makes people happier. Belief in something bigger than yourself is comforting, no matter how big a fallacy it may be.
Mr. Hoffman,
I have heard/read such claims many times before; however, I have yet to see any credible scientific studies to support the claim that “Belief in god makes people happier. Belief in something bigger than yourself is comforting.” I would be interested to see exactly how such a study measured happiness.
I believe people conflate atheist’s indignation with willful ignorance and anger. This does not by default make the literal and limited minded masses any happier than the inquiring and ironic minded few.
Additionally, I would absolutely love to see the empirical evidence that supports her ridiculous statement that, “most studies on survivors shows that the atheists die first, because [they/we] don’t believe in something Supernatural.”
In Reason,
Madison
Well, it kind of makes sense because stress is a major cause of illness and death, and belief in a higher being can help alleviate stress. It must be comforting to think you’re going to some magical place after you die, and all you have to do to get there is believe in a book written 2,000 years ago. And look at all the side benefits: if you cause someone harm, it’s okay because Jesus died for your sins. If you lie, that’s okay because Jesus died for your sins. Cheat on your wife? Perfectly okay, because Jesus died for your sins. What a deal! We atheists only have truth and facts, which makes us miserable when religious people have power.
