    • …though atheism or even agnosticism cannot ground morality. On atheism, you can borrow someone’s morality, but cannot own it. It’s the perpetual moral rental outlet. An atheist can never know his/her morality is right, while laying temporary claim to any moral argument amenable to sophistry. I suppose this kind of moral flexibility is the ultimate attraction for most atheists/agnostics, particularly philanderers like Russell.

      • I disagree. In the sense of morality, you are completely ignoring the proclivities and behaviors (sexual and otherwise) of Christians and non Christians alike. Your clergy preaches against acts of sexual depravity, only to engage in them once the church doors are closed. Those who don’t defend and cover up the immoral acts of their peers.

Welcome to humanity. Morality is not dependent on the belief in god. Morality is dependent on the belief that you are or aren’t causing harm to others. It doesn’t take scripture to tell you wether or not you are behaving badly. It takes conscience…which we all posses.

      • …on theism you borrow someone else’s morality but never own it. It’s the ultimate in intellectually laziness. A theist can never know if his morality is right but nonetheless assumes it is because their imaginary friend says so.
