1. Agree that one should not take ‘delight’ in the circumstances that underpin this story but, come on, it is the Duggars we’re talking about, a rich repository of conservative, white, republican values. It’s hard not to want to acknowledge and even trumpet what bald-faced hypocrites they really are. That is not necessarily taking ‘delight’ in the suffering, it is important to point out that those who wish to set themselves up as moral beacons have a responsibility to be authentic.
