What’s going on in Louisville, Ky., is especially alarming. A University of Louisville-affiliated hospital that serves a mostly low-income population is planning a merger with a Catholic health-care system. An array of services may be lost, hitting a population that can ill afford to see them go.
The atheist/ secular March on Washington, set for March 24, 2012? It’s kind of a big freaking deal: they’re saying it’s going to be the largest gathering of the secular movement in world history. There’s going to be music, comedy, general fun and hanging out… and, of course, speakers.
I had the following dialogue with a friend of mine concerning the invisible cosmic babysitter in the sky, the sky daddy, if you will, the big bang, and evolution. What are your thoughts concerning such matters?

While communism is officially atheist, a fact Christians gleefully point to as an example of what happens when atheism holds sway, communist philosophy is based on economics, not metaphysics. The political and economic philosophies of communism do not follow from the hypothesis of nonbelief. Indeed, with its dogmatic policies and authoritarianism, communism more closely resembles a godless religion than secular atheism. The only political views of atheists that are closely linked to their beliefs are that church and state should be separate and that decisions should be based on reason rather than revelation.

Most believers have been brainwashed into thinking that religion is necessary for happiness and contentment. This flies in the face of the fact that the happiest, healthiest, most content societies are the least religious.
“There are a lot of theological differences here, but we’re focusing on one issue: Jesus,” Garlow added. “It’s not about whether Perry becomes president, it’s about making Jesus king.”

Organizers argued (unconvincingly) that “The Response” was about prayer, not politics. But groups like the American Family Association (AFA), which paid for the rally and its webcast, and organizations like the Family Research Council, whose president was among the speakers, are not designed to win souls but to change American law and culture through grassroots organizing and political power-building. They have a corrosive effect on our political culture by promoting religious bigotry and anti-gay extremism, by claiming that the United States was meant to be a Christian nation, and by fostering resentment among conservative evangelicals with repeated false assertions that liberal elites are out to destroy religious liberty and silence conservative religious voices.
Perry told James Dobson that the rally was necessary because Americans have “turned away from God.” The following is an introduction to the groups and individuals who Gov. Perry has allied himself with in planning this event.
