  1. The article is absolutely correct. However, do you deny that tax credits to those that not only create jobs, but maintain a net gain of (a significant number of) jobs over a steady time period is beneficial to society? Rhetoric aside (I hate it too), the economy benefits when (simplistically speaking) the population spends money. People spend money when they have money. People have money when they have jobs or some form of income. People have jobs when corporations are hiring. Corporations hire when there is benefit for them to do so. In this economy, the short-term benefit of hiring is nonexistent. Therefore, some incentive must be created to get the economy back on track.

    Yes, that’s an overly simplistic view, but it’s indisputable logic. I don’t mean to give them extravagant tax credits, but some form of incentive is necessary, no?
