Cee Lo Green Changes ‘Imagine’ Lyrics To ‘All Religions’ From John Lennon’s ‘No Religion’ During New Year’s Eve Show (VIDEO)

Cee Lo Green’s small change to the lyrics to John Lennon’s song “Imagine” is causing a very big uproar.

Charged with singing Lennon’s famous solo-era tune on NBC’s New Year’s Eve show shortly before the ball dropped in Times Square , Green changed the lyrics from “Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion tooto “Nothing to kill or die for, And all religion’s true.”

  1. Although totally disrespectful to someone who was killed fighting for what he believed in this is ridiculous enough to just make me laugh. If his version became too popular all he would do would bring the original back to popularity through controversy and quite possibly get sued. Stunts like this are typically publicity ones, bad press is better than none at all. Besides, he’s not fooling anybody worth fooling. What a dingbat,

  3. That guy is a jackass. Just read his series of tweets in response to criticism on Huffington Post. He has an infinitesimal fraction of Lennon’s talent, intellect, and humanity.

    • krismerino,

Apparently he was not present the day you mentioned in your history class how John Lennon was one of the most influential peace activists of the 20th century for the Vietnam anti-war movement, so much so, that the Nixon administration attempted to deport him. The lesson being to never let a peace activist get between a Republican and a Quagmire of the military industrial complex, not to mention it could be argued the most talented musician ever. Yes, he is faddish musician of short shelf life with an expiration date rapidly approaching, not to mention a mental midget.
