Always Question Authority 
Well, of course, he was thanking the Creator, from whom all things come, for the condition which enabled him to win an Oscar. And what was his thing about it being a “scientific” fact that gratitude is always rewarded? More of the Christian science that underpin Creationism? To give the devil, uh God, his due, it was still a good performance. I just like it when plays Rust Cohle better, now there’s a dude you could have a Lone Star with!
