Maybe I’m unique, that from the start of my indoctrination I just could not swallow all the crap I was told, such as a holy ghost, a virgin birth, talking serpents, water into wine, burning bushes, the raising of the dead etc ad nauseum! So unlike dbellis, there were no shackles for me to throw off! Fortunately, he managed to see the light and threw them off, either through critical thinking & reasoning plus a dash of common sense, which I have to say, is not all that common!

  2. This is one of my least favorite secularist sayings (all due respect to Carl Sagan, who I usually love) because it’s so demonstrably false: there would be no ex-believers like myself if it were true.
