Juxtaposing Michael Brown and Cliven Bundy neatly reflects the bipolar world of race in America. In what field of the imagination could one see an armed presence such as this in a white suburban enclave? And, if such an anomaly were to occur, the political furor would dwarf what we see presently.
Viewed from another angle, Ferguson’s militarized police presence, represents just the beginning of the continued arming of America. Police departments across the country have plenty of cowboys who want to get some high-powered weapons, put on some helmets and visors, and save America from all those enemies of the republic–i.e., minorities and liberals. Hey, it’s a lot more fun than just going to the firing range over and over.
