Directly after copulation the devil’s laughter is heard… wonderful…explains the male’s desire to spring out of bed and hit the road as soon as the deed is done! Love Schopenhauer. He offers the most lucid explanation of existence with his will-to-life. Not entirely persuaded, however, by everything he says in this segment on marriage, partners, etc. After all, by most accounts, Schopenhauer was a distinctly unhappy guy so one can’t help but think this colors his thinking to a large degree. Still, on most accounts, I agree with his system.
