Zinnia, wow, wow. wow wow. wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First impression: who is that beautiful girl? 2nd: Who is that beautiful girl supporting we who are trans? Third impression: Who is that wonderful, articulate and brilliant trans girl that I have never heard of before? You hit this one out of the ball park! I really and absolutely mean what I have just said…….wow………you represent all of us well, so much so that my mouth was wide open and aghast as I listened!
Due and completely earned and deserved accolades aside, I wish to make the following point(s):
Euphoric joy is the flip side of anger. Euphoric joy is expressed when our favorite sports team wins a championship. Anger, justified anger, is expressed when an innocent person or child is wronged. Both emotions have their role to play inside of controlled behavior. You and I are very angry that innocent transgender children, already tormented by having to endure a physical reality since birth that conflicts with their gender identity, must endure a gauntlet, courtesy of “self-righteous” purveyors of transgender persecution. Worse, it is financially fueled by faith-based groups who include in their mission statement “do no wrong” and “love thy neighbor.”
We have been here before as a nation. Blacks, Asians, gays, brown persons…..all have endured such public persecution, having been deemed guilty while being innocent even before so much as lifting a finger. Today, it is us who have been deemed guilty even while innocent. It is a time for anger, justifiable anger requiring no artificial rationalization, for those who have already convicted us provide due rationalization.
Their delusions of danger, or “imagined harm”, are extremely dangerous not because of the delusions but because their opinions are being sold as facts, and many are buying. Those who are buying their opinions have arrived at the most dangerous of conclusions: trans=danger . Danger to whom? Danger to whom we as parents hold to be most precious: our offspring. To them we are as dangerous as our “dangerous lifestyle”. The real danger is when others accuse and convict the innocent. History stands as a witness to the costs borne by those who are pronounced guilty even while innocent: the Jewish people, the Japanese American citizens, African Americans. Pronouncing guilt upon the heads of transgender children and adults is no small and trivial joke. It is as dangerous as WW II genocide.
