Devils and demons are not the enemies of Christianity because they are inextricably connected with its imaginative scenario. The greatest enemy of faith is more accurately described as reason. Reason is rooted in what is perceptually evident and along with its method of logical inference allows us to extend our knowledge to parts of reality that are not perceptually evident. Ideas that conform to what is real need to distinguished from those that don’t and reason is the only option that man has to do this.
