The police in North Dakota are brutalizing protesters against the Dakota Access Pipeline to the point where someone’s arm has been blown off.
On a special edition of On Contact, Chris Hedges travels to the Standing Rock encampment in North Dakota to listen to the frontline voices of those fighting to block the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Roland Martin spoke with MSNBC’s Sheinelle Jones about his recent interview with White Nationalist and Alt-Right spokesperson Richard Spencer.
During their chat, Martin told Jones, the media misidentified the White economic angst bubbling up in America. The host of TV One’s NewsOne Now had properly identified the White resentment and resistance that has risen to prominence as early as 2009 following the election of President Barack Obama.
Martin also explained that “White fear is real” in a changing America where no one group will be the majority and said the angst that has arisen from that fear is “nothing to play around with.”
On Monday night, New Jersey Governor and Donald Trump transition team member Chris Christie did his monthly “Ask the Governor” radio show on WKXW-FM in Trenton. Never one to mix words, the governor made a number of colorful comments, but none more so than when a caller asked him about his role as New Jersey’s foremost obstacle to the legalization of recreational marijuana. Christie not only had no qualms about admitting that he’s standing in the way of the pro-marijuana efforts, but admonished his opponents for pushing legislation that would bring in “blood money.”
