Roland Martin appeared on MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell to discuss the possibility of Sheriff David Clarke being tapped to serve as the next head of Homeland Security in President-Elect Donald Trump’s administration.
During his appearance on MSNBC Martin said, Sheriff Clarke “should not be near any department of the federal government” because he is too dangerous to lead a federal agency.
Since April of this year, four people, including a baby, have died in the Milwaukee County Jail run by Clarke. Martin told viewers Sheriff Clarke has refused to answer any questions about the deaths.
Clarke, an outspoken critic of the Black Lives Matter Movement, has remained silent when police officers are charged with misconduct.
