Very true. When a Christian has cherry-picked scripture to provide support to their position, ask them to provide the greater context for that passage. What else is going on? Chances are, they cannot or will not because the context will typically shine a totally different light on the meaning of the verse than what they are suggesting. As one professor used to say: A text without context is a pretext.
