WHITE-WING CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN BIGOTRY: “House Republicans Signed a Bill That Put Iraqi and Syrian Christians Ahead of Muslims for Resettlement in the US” ☮
WASHINGTON — Christian groups that work with refugees are strongly opposed to a proposal that would in effect put Iraqi and Syrian Christians ahead of Muslims for resettlement in the U.S., even if they are also victims of persecution.
Ten House Republicans have signed on to a bill introduced this month by House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) that, among other things, instructs the government to prioritize religious minorities from Syria and Iraq for refugee status. The Obama administration plans to admit 10,000 Syrian refugees in the 2016 fiscal year, which begins on Thursday.

CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN INTELLECTUAL IDIOCY: “Ben Carson’s Scientific Ignorance” ☮
For a man with an impressive educational C.V., Ben Carson makes a lot of intellectual missteps. In his September 16th debate performance, he displayed a profound lack of foreign-policy knowledge; last Sunday, when he said, on “Meet the Press,” that he “would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation,” he may have seriously crippled his campaign. Still, there’s one area in which Carson’s credentials have seemed unimpeachable. Many people assume that, as a successful surgeon, he has a solid knowledge of technical, medical, and scientific issues.
With the wide release of video from a speech that Carson made to his fellow Seventh-Day Adventists in 2012, however, it’s becoming clear that there are significant gaps. In the speech, he made statements on subjects ranging from evolution to the Big Bang that suggest he never learned or chooses to ignore basic, well-tested scientific concepts.

BIGOTED CHRISTIAN WHITE SUPREMACY: “Why Do White Churches Continue to use Debunked White Images of Jebus and Other Biblical Personalities?”
Leonardo da Vinci painted his version of “The Last Supper” from 1494-1498. It’s famous. It’s special. It’s important. What it isn’t, is historically accurate … at all. Using only European models, in a European environment, da Vinci painted a distinctively European portrait of what was actually a very Palestinian moment that took place a full 45 generations before the painting was created.
. . .
Deliberate or subconscious, showing these images during worship, displaying them around a sanctuary, showing them as singers sing, is a form of racism and white supremacy. Jesus didn’t look like that. You know he didn’t. What’s disturbing is why accurate images of him have such a hard time catching on.
